This research project, conducted in collaboration with the Norwegian Sami Parliament, aims to anthropologically examine the Sami culture in northern Norway and Sweden. The project's goal is to understand how the Sami people adapt to contemporary society while fighting to preserve their unique cultural identity. The study includes an analysis of the daily lives of the Sami, their traditions, rituals, and relationship with nature, which plays a crucial role in their existence. The research will also address modern challenges faced by the Sami, such as climate change, pressure from the modern economy, and governmental policies. The project aims not only to document and analyze but also to support the Sami in their efforts to preserve their cultural heritage. The research will involve interviews with members of the Sami community as well as participant observations. The findings of this project will contribute to raising awareness about the Sami culture and supporting their cultural and social rights within contemporary society.
